Introduction
Wow, do I ever feel unequipped to write this.
Once upon a time, adrift on the internet, there existed a website. Its name was Eternal Legend and, like so many other great things out there, it was small. Unknown but to a handful who'd stumbled across it. Originally conceived to be a repository of information for one person's favourite games, it was the parent to a forum that I enjoyed spending time on, chatting for the first time in my life to like-minded people. Now long-defunct but for a placeholder page, Eternal Legend seemed the obvious choice to pay homage to the early internet, its text-based optics the perfect place to ramble on about whatever takes my fancy, with the added bonus of becoming heartsick with nostalgia every time I glance at the sidebar.
To look at the origins and ethos of the first and true Eternal Legend for yourself, please check the Wayback Machine here. For those who cannot or do not want to, let me directly lift from the original owner a passage that feels to me more poignant with every passing moment.
The work we do is largely just for the pleasure of doing it, and not because millions of people are capable of seeing it. This site is a labour of love, a thing which is worked on for personal enjoyment. As such, it will continue to grow until the fickle hand of cynicism removes the very pleasure from our hearts. It may change direction as our horizons are broadened, but it will always be ours.
Under New Management
As you might have guessed, I'm not the original owner of EL, just someone who happened to get caught up in its orbit, for woe or weal. Hi, I'm Mol, and I've spent my life loving Final Fantasy. I collect figures and have a few art books and the like - this site is the slow process of attempting to document what I've got and what I know. You can also find me on Twitter. Feel free to reach out - I don't inflict poison!
